Family of the Year

This award recognizes a family of a current Utah Tech University student who has shown extraordinary support to their student(s), whether personally or academically, during the student’s time at Utah Tech. The nominated families have gone above and beyond–supporting Utah Tech University as a whole as well as the St. George/Southwest Community. We recognize that “family” can mean many different things and may include parents, grandparents, guardians, siblings, cousins, or even close friends and chosen family. Nominations for this award may come from any full-time student or employee at Utah Tech.

Eligibility

• At the time of nomination, nominees for this award must have at least one student enrolled full-time at Utah Tech University
• Nominees DO NOT have to be Utah Tech/Dixie State alumni to be considered for this award
• Those submitting a nomination should be current full-time Utah Tech students or employees of Utah Tech University

Community Partner of the Year

In 2015, the Trailblazer Awards recognized a handful of local businesses who had made a significant contribution to the lives of students. Over the past decade, the tradition grew, as we came to value and honor the confidence and trust of so many who partner with us in supporting students and advancing our institutional mission, not only businesses. Thus, this award now recognizes up to five local businesses, organizations, or individuals who have shown extraordinary support to the students of Utah Tech University. There is not a single “winner” in this category–all finalists are outstanding in how they’ve strengthened the mission of Trailblazer Nation.

• Nominations for this award may come from any member of the campus or community
• Submissions are reviewed by a preliminary screening panel chaired by the Dean of Students, and narrowed to five finalists
