Family of the Year

The Family of the Year Award recognizes families of current Utah Tech University students who have shown extraordinary support to their student(s), whether personally or academically, during the student’s time at Utah Tech. The nominated families have gone above and beyond–supporting Utah Tech University as a whole as well as the St. George/Southwest Community.

ELIGIBILITY & CRITERIA

  • Have at least one full-time student enrolled at Utah Tech University
  • The definition of “Family” may include parents, grandparents, guardians, siblings, cousins, or even close friends and chosen family.
  • Nominees DO NOT have to be Utah Tech/Dixie State alumni to be considered for this award

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Nominations open at 8:00 a.m. on January 15, 2026, and close at 5:00 p.m. on February 20, 2026.
  • Nominations must be submitted electronically.
  • Nominations may be submitted by any full-time student or employee at Utah Tech, as well as any family members or friends of Utah Tech Students.

SELECTION PROCESS

  • Nominations are reviewed by the Assistant Director and Family Guide Coordinator from New Student and Family Programs. Those nominations are voted on in an identity-hidden process by the rest of the New Student and Family Programs Office and the Utah Tech Family Association Committee to determine the award recipient.

Community Partner of the Year

The Community Partner of the Year Award recognizes up to five local businesses, organizations, or individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary support for the students of Utah Tech University. This award honors the confidence and trust of those who partner with us to advance the University’s mission, strengthening the impact and reach of Trailblazer Nation.

ELIGIBILITY & CRITERIA

  • Involvement in Utah Tech University and St. George/Southwest Utah Community
  • Supported Utah Tech students through unique contributions—keeping the institution mission and goals in mind

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Nominations open at 8:00 a.m. on January 15, 2026, and close at 5:00 p.m. on February 20, 2026.
  • Nominations must be submitted electronically.
  • Nominations may be submitted by the general campus community.

SELECTION PROCESS

  • Submissions are reviewed by a preliminary screening panel, chaired by the Dean of Students, and then narrowed to five finalists.
  • The finalists are all recognized as winners—there is not a singular winner in this category.
